Penfolds is Australia’s most infamous winery with a star-studded cast of wines, including Grange, St Henri and Bin 707 Cabernet, to name just a few. It enjoys an iconic status that few New World producers have achieved.
Established in 1844 at the Magill Estate near Adelaide, it laid the foundation for fine wine production in Australia. Their wines are famed for their cellaring potential and are derived from vineyards across the Barossa region and South Australia.
The winemaking team is led by the masterful Peter Gago; it has the herculean task of blending the best wines from a multitude of different plots, vineyards and regions to create a consistent and outstanding range of wines. Its flagship wine, Grange, is firmly established as one of the finest red wines in the world.
Under Gago’s stewardship, the Penfolds range has evolved over time. Winemaking has moved away from New World heat and the sort of larger-than-life style that can mask individuality; the contemporary wines instead favour fine balance and typicity for the region or grape.

Medium to full red-purple, still bright after five years, vibrant cherry and plum fruit aromas more than handle the oak on the bouquet; the palate is sumptuous, but not heavy, the cherry and plum flavours tracking the bouquet. The wine has a very long finish, with fine, integrated tannins. Destined to become one of the great Granges. *Five Stars*
As unevolved as they are, the dense and multilayered aromas and flavors are truly impressive here. Black currant, herb, tea, oak, vanilla, maple, anise, blueberries and more--it could be an exercise in overkill, if all the parts weren't in such fine harmony. Really big, but with excellent balance, this reveals much less now than the RWT. It is everything a flagship wine in its infancy should be--immaculate component parts, superbly full on the palate, possessed of great length and incredible potential. Lifted, lively and positively racy on the nose. Extremely sweet and rich on the palate yet still with a little youthful tarriness. Quite dusty tannins. This tastes like a new era for Grange – much more obvious ripeness. Drink 2012-2040

Our current delivery charges for customers in the UK are shown below. Please remember that if you are taking delivery of wine bought and held in bond then duty and V.A.T. charges will be applied.
In some cases, we will be able to arrange delivery for the next day provided we are advised before 11.00am, however please give us as much notice as possible and note that during very busy periods, such as in the run-up to Christmas, special deadlines will apply.

International Delivery
For customers wishing to ship wines outside the UK we will arrange export paperwork and prepare wines to be collected by your freight forwarder of choice at an agreed date and time from LCB Burton Gateway. You will be responsible for the wines from the point at which they are collected by your forwarder.
If you would like us to arrange the export and onward delivery of your wines, please let us know and we will be happy to provide a quotation. We use a select number of trusted freight forwarders who specialise in moving fine and rare wines and can ship worldwide in temperature-controlled conditions if necessary and at competitive rates.

We offer in bond storage (remaining duty and tax free) of any fine wines purchased from us at our custom controlled warehouse at £18 per 9 litre case (12 bottles, 6 magnums, etc.) or £15 per 4.5 litre or less a case (6 bottles, 3 magnums to 1 bottle) per year, plus V.A.T. This includes insurance and will apply to wines that remain uncollected or undelivered 30 days after the date of the sale.
